The European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility (European XFEL) celebrates the inauguration of its X-ray laser and officially opens for researchers.
The 5th EIROforum School on Instrumentation (ESI 2017) will take place from 19-23 June 2017 and will be hosted by the European XFEL.
ESI, organised by the EIROforum Instrumentation Working Group, aims at teaching basic principles of instrumentation to young researchers, scientists and engineers. The highlight topic of ESI 2017 is Gravitational Waves.
The school sessions will be held on the DESY site in Hamburg.
Leaders of eight European research institutes also visit European XFEL construction site On 23–24 November at its headquarters in Hamburg, European XFEL hosted the EIROforum Directors General Autumn Assembly. The event brought together the leaders of the eight major international research organizations that constitute EIROforum, a collaboration that supports the advancement of scientific research in Europe and advises the European Union on science policy.
