The EIROforum is a crucial player in the establishment of a European Research Area and to achieve this goal it engages in a wide spectrum of activities.

Working in close dialogue both with the European Union and national institutions, the EIROforum actively participates in shaping science policy in Europe. As world leaders within their respective fields of science, the seven member organisations of the EIROforum engage in cutting-edge research activities and pool their substantial expertise in basic research.

To promote public awareness and understanding of science in Europe, the EIROforum maintains several Outreach and Education Programmes aimed a various audiences.

The EIROforum also conducts activities in the field of Human Resources to strengthen the foundations of European research by focusing and investing in its human capital.

Finally, the EIROforum is active in the development of new scientific instrumentation and infrastructure and engages in technology transfer to the benefit of the European society.
